Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) reports to the Vice President & Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Children's National and will be an integral member of the IT senior management team. The CTO provides leadership and management for IT infrastructure at Children's National which includes a close relationship with the Bear Institute for Health Innovation, a technology partnership between Children's National Hospital and Cerner, to provide delivery of IT services. The CTO will ensure that the technical IT infrastructure is capable of supporting the vision and strategies of Children's National. The CTO will work to maximize the effectiveness of the IT infrastructure through the adoption and promotion of technology standards throughout Children's National. He/she will have a strong service orientation and will ensure a high level of quality and service delivery. Working closely with the CIO, the CTO will play a key leadership role in the recommendation and selection of technologies that support the goals of Children's National. The CTO will work to educate and build consensus around technical standards through frequent, open and easily understood communications throughout the organization. Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience (Required) And Master's Degree Master's in Business Administration or similar degree strongly preferred. Be perceived as a solid team player who has credibility and integrity, and contributes broadly as a subject-matter leader in support of technology Work collaboratively and build relationships with leadership within IT and across Children's National in an effort to identify, address and meet their needs, specifically as it relates to technology services Take the time to learn the culture and overall landscape, in particular the outsourced relationship with the Bear Institute for Health Innovation. Forge a collaborative relationship to work effectively with leadership and staff to achieve shared goals Fully evaluate the current technology environment and develop a plan to successfully transform and modernize the IT infrastructure to create a reliable, scalable and secure platform Lead in the development of the future technology roadmap and architecture strategy in support of the vision and goals of Children's National Provide the leadership and planning for IT infrastructure in support of the integration of Hospital for Sick Children and for future organization expansion initiatives Ensure the success of the data center consolidation and the re-architecture of the network Improve the IT customer service model and contribute to efforts to migrate appropriate IT services to the cloud to enable efficiencies and cost effectiveness Establish and communicate requirements in acquiring technology applications, services, systems and equipment; negotiate and manage vendor contracts to cost, safety and performance standards Advance and mature the disaster recovery capabilities resulting in enhanced recovery capabiltes Operational and HR Leadership Lead the IT infrastructure strategy and architecture Partner with leaders at The Bear Institute for Health Innovation to provide delivery of high quality IT services Develop and guide enterprise technology standards and performance metrics Collaborate with the CISO and information security leaders to align IT and IS goals, strategies, architectures and roadmaps Manage vendor relationships and ensure that service level agreements and vendor performance is meeting the technology needs of Children's National Ensure the continuous delivery of IT infrastructure services through the oversight of and monitoring of IT systems Establish and ensure departmental goals, objectives and operating procedures Collaborate with the Bear Institute leadership to recruit, develop and retain a high performing team of technology professionals Oversee the execution of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise Assume full CIO responsibilities or those responsibilities as directed during the CIO's absence
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
