Mechanical Engineer / Technical Specialist IV

Axiom Consultants is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/ Technical Specialist to participate in a team supporting the development, acquisition, and implementation of a new radiosonde observing system for NOAA's National Weather Service.
The program is located at NOAA in Silver Spring, MD, and will provide technical support services for the overarching project management, systems engineering, and reporting associated with this project.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis on electrical, mechanical or systems engineering.

years of progressive engineering management or support experience.
Experience with meteorological field data collection systems.
CAC card preferredDemonstrated experience in Technical Project Management.
Experience working within an Engineering Program Management Office (PMO) environment.
Ability to produce technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) processes.
Understanding of configuration management (CM) processes.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience supporting diverse teams including Subject Matter Experts, site technicians, deployment teams, and project managers.
Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures for system installation, operation, and maintenance.
Knowledge of version control processes.
Excellent writing skills using proper English grammar and engineering and technical terms of reference.
Proficiency in preparing and formatting documents using Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities include:
Provide engineering support for the deployment of meteorological equipment at field sites in diverse CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Process and analyze information gathered from vendor-based documentation.
Catalog client requirements and develop task lists, estimates, and schedules for deliverables.
Develop engineering solutions and produce related technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Develop comprehensive operations and maintenance procedures for NOAA NWS systems.
Develop detailed field procedures for hardware/sub-system replacement.
Develop and manage comprehensive field maintenance and operations manuals for meteorological systems.
Develop and implement management and analysis tools and participate in planning and executing of acceptance testing.
Assist in the review and publication of engineering, operations, and maintenance project deliverables.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
