Environmental Products Systems Engineer / Programmer/Analyst
Overview STC is in search of a Systems Engineering / Scientific Programmer/Analyst to assist National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) / National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service (NESDIS) / Office of Satellite Ground Services (OSGS) under the NOAA/NESDIS Environmental Satellite Processing and Distribution System (ESPDS) team.
Responsibilities Specific duties will include:
Provide system engineering and programming/analyst support to ESPDS PM in support of legacy, GOES-R, JPSS, international/interagency, and Research-to Operations missions to be integrated into data processing segments of the OSGS Ground Enterprise.
These segments include satellite data ingest and pre-processing, but specifically product generation and product distribution.
Provide engineering analysis support and strategies for migration of ESPDS functionality to the NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF) based on SAFe principles.
Assist in collaborative activities with ESPDS stakeholders and users to ensure commonality of objectives focusing on enterprise product distribution and access and in analysis and verification of system requirements.
Assist OSGS Product Generation staff in planning and analyses for implementation of new and updated products from existing and future satellite systems.
Provide support to Product Generation staff in planning for implementation of product requirements and support OSGS in collaborating with Operations to characterize and upgrade the end-to-end process for moving product process software items from research and development from OSGS into operations in Operations.
Qualifications 5 - 10 years of experience as related to the above description.
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident / Green Card holder with at least 2 years residing in the US.
Desired:
BA/BS or higher in science, computer, engineering or related disciplines.
Conversant in MS office products and other relevant computer software application systems.
