Civil Engineer (Direct Hire) Location - Silver Spring, MD Pay - $140,000
(Depending upon experience)Client seeks an energetic, highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer leader to join our Silver Spring, Maryland office and serve as the Civil Engineering Division Manager overseeing a team of bright and dedicated junior to mid-level engineers.
The candidate will be a major client-facing figure and final authority on engineering plans, he/she must have the following key Critical skills and

Required Skills and Experience
Senior Civil Engineer with _15
years_ of experience and Professional Engineer License
Competent in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Above average written and oral communication skills
Project organizational and time management skills

years_ of experience as a land development engineer

years_ of experience as an engineering manager and/or project manager supervising engineers and/or planners.

Responsibilities:

Provides leadership and oversight of design, production, and coordination of conceptual and final design of civil engineering tasks.

Advises and recommends design procedures to staff and interfaces with clients and public agencies.

Experienced with typical civil engineering elements, to include roadways, site grading, stormwater management, earthwork erosion sediment control, environmental compliance, ADA compliance, and pavement markings signage.

Analytical ability to select and recommend design procedures, interpret ordinances and specifications, analyze design requirements, and provide design solutions.
Job Duties:

Manage a staff of 5 to 10 engineers and technicians.
Monitor workload and scheduling QA/QC and PE seal plans
Technical resource
Mentor staff.

Resolve issues with agencies, clients, and staff/departments.

Coordinate land development projects with the client, agencies, and staff.

Project Manager for select clients and projects to
Monitor the entitlement process and coordinate with departments.

Be the client point of contact
Prepare proposals and invoices.

Actively participate in marketing efforts.

Develop and maintain a network of developers, builders, contractors, and agency staff.

Bring in new work and clients.

Read and interpret survey data, legal description, government standards and codes, and applies to design.

Prepare site and subdivision plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects in local counties to include storm water management, storm sewer plans and profiles, outfall analysis, sanitary sewer plans and profiles, water line plans and profiles, water network analysis, public street design, erosion and sediment control plans, fire lane plans, pavement designs, pavement striping and signage plans, maintenance of traffic plans, bond estimates and bond reductions.

Assist clients with bonding and permitting procedures.

Assist other company departments in the preparation of re-zonings, infill lot grading plans and preliminary plats.

Interact with County staff, clients, members of the public and elected and appointed officials.
Possible attendance at night meetings.

Involvement with industry related associations/organizations will be expected.
