Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) Team Lead - CNPA Silver Spring

The Advanced Practice Provider Team Lead provides clinical leadership and mentoring related to advanced practice and professional development of APRNs or PAs for their division/department(s).
They will serve as a liaison between the division(s) and Advanced Practice Director.
The Team Lead oversees the quality of care and productivity of the advanced practice provider.
They also promote education and professional development of the providers by developing and facilitating participation in educational programs.
They are responsible for oversight of new advanced practice provider onboarding and monitoring orientation periods within their areas.
They participate as a peer evaluator for advance practice provider FPPE/OPPE evaluation process within their area.
Advance Practice Provider (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant) The Advanced Practice Provider is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse anesthetists) or Physician Assistant who practices within their scope of practice as appropriate in their jurisdictional area and in accordance with their organizational Medical Staff Bylaws.
The provider is responsible for the management of care to patients including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of an appropriate plan of care.
Provides leadership and consultation with their respective clinical area through participation in division/department initiatives and mentorship of others.
Participates in division/departmental and organization wide initiatives to represent advanced practice and leverage the role of the advanced practice provider.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Master's Degree or Doctoral degree as Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant from an accredited University and eligibility for medical staff credentialing (Required) Minimum Work Experience 3 years experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
Preferred nursing leadership experience for example as an educator, preceptor, council member or comparable positions.
(Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Strong knowledge of clinical specialty and services and demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong collaborative relationship with administrative, nursing, physician colleagues in division.
Required Licenses and Certifications Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) (Required) Or Physician Assistant (Required)Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) (Required) CDS and DEA in state(s) of clinical practice (Required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred) Functional Accountabilities Strategic Role will work with teams that are focused on redesigning care delivery models utilizing Advanced Practice Providers while raising the bar on patient quality and safety.
Accountable for reporting assessments and making strategy recommendations to Director.
Role will work with teams to enhance Advanced Provider infrastructure, informatics, equipment, and processes related to technology as they relate to Advanced Practice Providers.

Integrate quality improvement methodology into Advanced Practice Provider culture through tools, training, and hardwire principles into our organization to make processes more efficient.

Clinical Assess diagnose, monitor and promote clinical status of each patient utilizing evidenced based practice and medical knowledge Develop appropriate plan care Write patient care orders, prescribe therapy and provide necessary home care orders as needed Identify significant changes in patient status using physical exam, lab values, diagnostic tests, and patient/family input Differentiate between normal and abnormal findings Perform procedures as needed after obtaining appropriate credentialing Participate in and lead multidisciplinary patient care and planning conferences Is a clinical resource for patient, parents and the interdisciplinary te Communicate and escalate clinical/administrative issues as appropriate.

Attend quarterly work meeting with APRN Director.
Responsible for the onboarding and orientation of all new APRN and PA providers in their respective department(s).
Relays important and timely updates to staff regarding operations of the APP practice meeting and APP practice CNH.
Liaison to department leadership and CNPA Medical Director regarding APP practice.

Acts as a clinical resource for staff in patient care issues.
