Overview:
The Drupal developer will be responsible for contributing to all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC). The developer builds content-focused Drupal web site solutions using PHP, JavaScript and CSS. Ideal candidate should be very familiar in the Drupal API version 6.x and 7.x and is fluent in PHP 5.x, with significant knowledge of HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript and jQuery. You will work within small software development team through release planning, monitoring and testing for multiple web site and application development projects. Work in a structured manner following SDLC processes like CMMI, Agile and SCRUM practices.
The ideal candidate must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple competing priorities and assignments. The candidate must have a strong technical background and be current on modern technologies to support changing client needs.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
Work with development team to migrate, design and maintain dynamic Drupal web applications.
Migrate current 6.x site to 7.x, Integrate custom solutions using Drupal API.
Write front-end code using Drupal theming engine, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
Participate in technical development through all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering/analysis, information architecture, software design, proof-of-concept development, coding, testing, deployment, performance tuning, refactoring, etc.
Apply industry standards and best practices for 508 Accessibility, Cross-Browser Compatibility, Drupal, PHP and code management while participating in all phases of the SDLC.
Design efficient, extensible, modular code from written requirements and/or user stories.
Design, build, test and deliver high quality, complex applications, diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
Drive effective teamwork, communication and collaboration to achieve results
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in Drupal 7, including the Drupal core API and security concepts.
Designing and building web applications using PHP 5x, HTML 5, CSS 3, PHP, JavaScript, and JQuery.
Experience with Iterative approach to development, using short development cycles and frequent builds, have practiced Agile/SCRUM
Good problem solving, design, coding and debugging skills
Experience using Drupal Devel, SimpleTest, Security Review, QA, and other testing methods/tools.
Ability to develop secure solutions, familiarity with FISMA and knowledge of industry best practices regarding information security
Experience in designing systems that meets Federal regulatory requirements for Accessibility (508) and overall best practices for user experience.
Minimum 3
years proven hands on Drupal/PHP development experience
Strong customer interaction skills and ability to understand and document customer needs from a business solutions perspective
Experience developing software using a formal and structured development methodology
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects
Exhibit clear oral and written communication skills

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 6 - 8 years of experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
