Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Administrator, you will perform the following duties:
Serve as a Fish and Wildlife Administrator managing the Domestic Fisheries Division of the Office of Sustainable Fisheries to develop, implement, monitor, and influence decision-making on domestic fisheries management actions, national policies, and regulatory programs, to protect, conserve, enhance, and rebuild fishery populations, while ensuring consistency with the Magnuson-Stevens Act and other relevant statutes.
Provide accurate and timely advice on regulatory policy and procedures to the other NOAA Fisheries Offices, NOAA, Department of Commerce, Office of Management and Budget, and the public.
Supports NOAA Fisheries leadership engagement with Congress including analysis of legislation, testimony development, and responses to inquiries.
Perform the full range of supervisory duties, including planning and distributing work, establishing priorities, identifying training needs, developing performance standards, recommending appointment, promotions or reassignments.
Travel Required Occasional travel - Up to 15% of domestic travel may be required.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
This position has a positive Education Requirement in addition to at least one year of Specialized Experience in order to be found minimally qualified.

EDUCATION:
A.
Degree:
Biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR B.
Combination of education and
Experience:
Courses equivalent to a major, or at least 30 semester hours in courses, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
OR C.
Experience:
Four years of experience that demonstrated that the applicant acquired knowledge and understanding of one or more of the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, or related disciplines equivalent to that which would have been acquired through completion of a 4-year course of study as described in A above.
AND- SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (eg, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations eg, professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the ZP-5 or GS-15 level:
SPECIALIZED
Experience:
In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements above, applicants must also possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZP-4 or GS-14 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Assisting with developing and implementing policies and/or programs to ensure program compliance with the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act; Establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and Performing administrative duties for a fishery management program such as setting program goals, achieving program goals, developing budgets, and providing guidance to staff.
Education College Transcript:
If you are qualifying based on education, submit a copy of your college transcript that lists college courses detailing each course by the number and department (ie, bio 101, math 210, etc.
), course title, number of credit hours and grade earned.
You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to US education standards with your resume.
