IT Specialist (Systems Analysis), ZP-2210-3/4 (DE/CR)

As an IT Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Evaluate and verify impacts in the planning, design, and implementation of information systems and services that support enterprise services such as an Administrative Network, Wide Area Network and software/hardware capabilities. Install, configure, test, maintain, and upgrade Windows and Linux network operating systems software. Develop and implement migration strategies including planning for continuity of operations during the deployment of new server technology. Configure, optimize, and maintain network servers, hubs, routers, and switches. Define and maintain network architecture and infrastructure. Configure and optimize network servers, hubs, routers, and switches; analyze network workload, capacity and performance; and diagnose network problems. Develop and present plans for integrating new server technology. Plan, implement, and manage problem management systems to track, report and resolve problems. Serve as liaison with stakeholders to plan and conduct server infrastructure projects. Note:
The duties are at the full ZP-4 performance level, and the ZP-3 are developmental leading to suchperformance. IT COMPETENCIES:
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. In addition to meeting the IT Competencies above, applicants must also possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZP-2 or GS-09 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Contributing to the installation and maintenance of network hardware and software; Assisting in the development and design of network architecture and infrastructure; and Assisting in the detection and resolution of network problems. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. To qualify at the ZP-4 or GS-13 level:

Experience:
In addition to meeting the IT Competencies above, applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZP-3 or GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Assisting with the installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of network hardware and software; Assisting with the analysis of requirements and resources in the development and design of network architecture and infrastructure; Tracking and identifying network problems and recommending resolutions for correction(s); Assisting in the detection, resolution, and tracking of network problems; and Participating in planning of server infrastructure projects.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
