The position of Health Communications Specialist falls under the 1001 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-12/13, you must meet the following:
Minimum Qualifications Specialized Experience. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. GS-12 You must possess 1 year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service that includes assisting with developing, implementing and evaluating strategic communication and marketing strategies or plans used to inform the public about health programs and services related to cessation initiatives such as tobacco prevention. GS-13 You must possess 1 year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service that includes coordinating, developing, implementing and evaluating strategic communication and marketing strategies or plans that will be used to inform the public about health programs and services related to cessation initiatives such as tobacco prevention and developing reports and recommendations on findings. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
